I began to express my creativity as a way to cope with unexpectedly becoming my mom’s full time caregiver. As she battles Atypical Parkinson’s I battle the rage, stress and overwhelming sadness of watching her decline by using acrylic paint, soft pastels, watercolors or whatever else I can get my hands on.
I don’t put myself in a box or follow any rules but instead give myself the freedom of expression in whatever way I feel because for me art is all about emotions and connections. That means every piece is personal and exposing each one to the world is like going to a nude beach.
Exhilarating, terrifying and just a little scandalous all at the same time. I’ve taken the scenic route to get here but I’m thankful for my journey and plan on really enjoying the destination.
I hope to stay for a while.
